Paolo Fuzio obtained a degree in Biology at University of Bari in 2005.

In the same University, in 2010, and got his PhD in Biotechnology Applied to Organs and Tissues Transplantation, with a final thesis entitled: “Effect of the hormonal therapy on b1C integrin, TGF-b1 and BCL-2 expression in prostate cancer”.

Actually his research activity is focalized on the study concerning the molecular characterization of cell malignant transformation in an in vivo model system of human tissues with particular attention to the regulation of expression of tumour suppressor-like factors in hormonally regulated human carcinoma, such as thyroid, prostate, mammary and endometrial carcinoma.

Up to now he has published two scientific publications (ISI) on International journals:

  • Androgen Deprivation Therapy Regulation of Beta1C Integrin Expression in Prostate Cancer
    P. Fuzio, G. Lucarelli, E. Perlino, M. Battaglia, C. Bettocchi, F.P. Selvaggi, P. Ditonno.
    2009 – Oncology Reports 22(2): 327-335
  • Androgen deprivation therapy affects BCL-2 expression in human prostate cancer
    Fuzio P, Ditonno P, Lucarelli G, Battaglia M, Trabucco S, Perlino E
    Int J Oncol. 2011 Nov;39(5):1233-42. doi: 10.3892/ijo.2011.1140. Epub 2011 Jul 22.
    (PMID: 21785821).

while a third is under printing.

He carries out scientific animation for the ITB-CNR of Bari, also participating in regional programs to spread about scientific topics.
